They already signed other difference makers

Christian McCaffrey is clearly someone that the team can rely on to save a drive 99 times out of 100. However, the team made sure to sign a few tone setters before they made this big decision, and believe it or not the Carolina Panthers got a great deal in the end.

Last season it seemed like the Panthers couldn’t catch a break with their kick/punt returners. Lots of dropped balls, no explosive plays, you name it they had it.

So what did they do? They got themselves Pharoh Cooper who has been a specialist in the return game for the last four seasons, and they re-signed DeAndrew White.

The Panthers answered the fans’ rally cries for a true number one wide receiver by bringing in Robby Anderson. They couldn’t do it without bringing in some competition by signing lengthy wide receivers Seth Roberts and Keith Kirkwood.

On defense, there’s Tre Boston, who came through in a pinch for the team a few times in 2019. And, of course, the former first-round pick, Shaq Thompson, who’s been a legitimate starter since 2015.

Those two along with other familiar faces add up to just enough energy and experience to make up for any rookie mistakes.
