Carolina Panthers show strong interest in QB Jordan Love

The Carolina Panthers have shown some strong interest in Utah State’s intriguing quarterback prospect Jordan Love heading into the 2020 NFL Draft.
Quarterback Jordan Love has been one of the 2020 NFL Draft’s most talked-about young prospects. The Carolina Panthers have reportedly been keeping a close eye on the player during the evaluation process.
Head coach Matt Rhule has previously stated he is not ruling out taking a top quarterback with the No. 7 selection despite the glaring need for defensive reinforcements. This time of year is full of smokescreens. This statement could be a ploy to acquire more selections for anyone looking to trade up into their spot.
According to ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler, the Panthers have done a substantial amount of scouting work surrounding Utah State standout Love, who is one of the most intriguing talents entering the NFL in 2020.
He wrote:
"“Here are a handful of teams that have done serious research on Love and are worth watching: New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers and Miami Dolphins. Carolina picks 38th in the second round and could stash a project QB behind Teddy Bridgewater with a move up. But an NFC offensive coordinator says he “would be surprised if he got that far” in the first round.”"
The chances of Love making it to the Panthers’ second-round pick are slim. There is a real chance of the player ending up in the top-ten and he seems a lock to go in the first round.
There has been some talk of Carolina making a move down the draft order to boost the eight selections they currently have. This might put Love in play if they have become enamored with the player as reported.
