Cameron Dantzler – CB (Mississippi State)

Cameron Dantzler possesses tremendous athleticism that is normally highly sought after in college recruits. The cornerback has plenty of tools at his disposal and a promising career in the NFL could be in the offing if he continues to develop.

His length is something that stands out on film and it gets him out of trouble when he loses the first step on an opposing receiver. Dantzler has quality mobility and excels in covering down the field.

The player also comes to life in the red zone thanks to his size. Dantzler displays impressive ball skills and doesn’t have much of a problem going up for the ball at its highest point.

Another standout feature of his play is composure. He rarely panics in pressure situations and reacts very well to any danger in his path.

One area of his game that does need work is his ability in press coverage. Dantzler has a hard time jamming receivers at the line of scrimmage on occasions and more is expected of the player given his physical attributes.

He also needs to work on his work on short and intermediate routes if the prospect is going to fulfill his enormous potential. Dantzler is a highly competitive individual with a strong work ethic, so he represents good value in the second round for the Carolina Panthers.

There is the possibility of Dantzler going late in the first round if a team has targeted him specifically. If the Panthers go with a defensive lineman or linebacker with their first-rounder, then they could to worse than taking the player at No. 38.
