Jordyn Brooks – LB (Texas Tech)

The Carolina Panthers will need to find a potential replacement for legendary linebacker Luke Kuechly during the NFL Draft. The perennial All-Pro announced his shock retirement this offseason and has left a gaping hole at the second level.

Jordyn Brooks is a physical player that is at his very best when attacking downhill. He is a hugely influential player from sideline-to-sideline and possesses a high football IQ that enables him to communicate well on the field.

His ability to spot holes in opposing offensive lines is exemplary and plays a significant role in both running and passing downs. Brooks also possesses a high motor and has the potential to set the tone for any defense at the next level.

The prospect ended his college career on a high in 2019. Brooks recorded 109 combined tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble last season and a strong evaluation process has him a lock to go within the first two rounds of the Draft.

There is no doubt Brooks is a tremendous fit for the Panthers. But whether they want to address other needs first remains to be seen. There are a lot of similarities between Brooks and Kuechly and if the incoming player can improve in coverage, somebody is going to get a consistent starter for a decade.
