Adam Trautman – TE (Dayton)

Adam Trautman has flown up NFL Draft boards during the assessment process despite only having two years of college experience under his belt.

Trautman has a unique blend of size, speed, and athleticism that is the standard requirement for tight ends at the next level. The prospect is very quick out of his cuts and has good hands to catch the ball under pressure.

These skills were put to superb use in 2019 with the Flyers. Trautman secured 70 receptions for 914 yards and a phenomenal 14 touchdowns to further increase his reputation as one of the brightest tight end prospects coming out this year.

There is a strong possibility that Trautman might even be the first player at the position taken, such is his momentum currently. The player originally came into the college system as a quarterback, so there is plenty of scope for him to improve even further when he becomes more acclimatized to the tight end position.

His blocking does need work if he is going to thrive in the NFL. But Trautman can be used in specialist pass packages until this element of his game is up to speed.

The Carolina Panthers need to replace Greg Olsen at some stage. They have high hopes for Ian Thomas in 2020, but more might be needed long-term.
