Josh Uche – DE/OLB (Michigan)

What Josh Uche lacks in experience, he more than makes up for with size, strength, and ferocity. He is supremely gifted and given the player’s scope for improvement, he is going to be a very enticing prospect for NFL teams on Draft night.

Uche broke out for the Wolverines’ in 2019 on his way to 8.5 sacks, 35 combined tackles, two forced fumbles, and two pass deflections. He is a dominant force on the edge that has the capability of either putting his hand in the dirt or standing up in the outside linebacker position.

The prospect plays with good bend and he has a fantastic repertoire of pass-rushing moves for someone who hasn’t spent much time on the field in a competitive environment. Teams are going to love the potential of coaching him up into a prolific sack machine and this will ensure he goes in the first two rounds of the Draft.

Uche does need to work on the tackling aspect of his game if he is going to make a real go of things at the next level. The player can also become overwhelmed by stronger offensive lineman and this is something he is going to see a lot of in the pros.

He does cope well in coverage for a man his size, which is a testament to his footwork and discipline. Uche projects to be a lesser talented version of Isaiah Simmons heading into the NFL and has a substantial ceiling to aim for.
