Carolina Panthers Draft: 4 possible trade down partners
By Dean Jones
The Carolina Panthers are reportedly fielding calls to move down from the No. 7 spot, but which teams would be possible suitors?
Speculation is mounting that the Carolina Panthers are looking to move out of the No. 7 spot in the NFL Draft. This would make sense for a rebuilding franchise that has just eight selections going into a crucial three days.
The more picks that general manager Marty Hurney has to work with, the better their chances of speeding up the process of becoming contenders once again. There is expected to be plenty of movement within the top ten as teams look for their next quarterback, wide receiver, or even an offensive lineman that can make a difference.
This puts the Panthers in a relatively sound spot. If they choose to remain steadfast at No. 7 it will come with an elite defensive prospect. If they go through with moving down, it would give them more selections and could still see them picking up a player with a huge amount of upside.
There is also the virtual element to consider when looking at possible trades in this year’s Draft. With no extra time to make picks, any trades are going to have to go through the chain of command quickly in order to come to fruition.
It promises to be a fascinating few days that could have huge implications for the Panthers. If they are intent on trading down, which teams should be calling?
