Carolina Panthers QB Options: Matt Moore

Matt Moore is no stranger to the Carolina Panthers having started his career with the franchise from 2007-10. While he showed flashes of what he could do under center, the arrival of Cam Newton was the final nail in the player’s coffin with the organization.

The veteran has since gone on to have moderate success. But Moore quietly evolved into one of the best backup options in the NFL and a return to Carolina would be mutually beneficial at this stage of the offseason.

Moore has a 60.1 percent completion percentage throughout his career on his way to 7,601 yards, 49 touchdowns, and 38 interceptions. He knows everything about the Carolina way of life and knows what is expected from their fanbase.

This would ease any potential transition back into the fold. It would also give Bridgewater an experienced figure to lean on during the campaign. Although the No. 1 is 28-years-old he has relatively low mileage on the clock due to his horrendous leg injury and the more help the player receives, the better.

Moore would come with a bargain-basement price and would return to Carolina with a Super Bowl ring after backing up stud gunslinger Patrick Mahomes with the Kansas City Chiefs last year. He even filled in on two occasions and went 2-0 during that time.

If the interest is there, then it represents a good option if the Panthers go down this particular route.
