Carolina Panthers: 3 free-agent quarterbacks worth considering

Carolina Panthers QB Option: Kyle Sloter
Another high-value option in free agency for the Carolina Panthers is Kyle Sloter. The player was released from his contract by the Detroit Lions and one only has to look at his preseason performances to see what he can bring to a starting role.
His arm strength is a notable feature of his game. Sloter also has good pocket awareness and has more than earned the right to be considered as a No. 2 option.
It is somewhat surprising that he hasn’t landed on another team yet. But getting the player to the Panthers would not be expensive in the slightest. Sloter is still only 26-years-old so he also comes with a tremendous amount of upside in terms of development in the future.
The player boasts a similar skill set to Teddy Bridgewater and one could argue Sloter has a better arm. Therefore, the signal-caller could work with the same sort of playbook in the event the Panthers’ starting option ends up missing time through injury at any stage.
The Panthers are in a tricky situation regarding their backup options. There was no way Cam Newton was going to settle for a secondary role in Carolina and it has left them with little experience if things do go wrong.
While Sloter doesn’t have much competitive game time. The player has excelled during friendly situations and represents an upgrade in the short-term.
