The Carolina Panthers have been linked with a possible trade for Arizona Cardinals linebacker Hasson Reddick, but what would he bring to the franchise?

Now the NFL Draft is in the books, the Carolina Panthers might be looking at other ways to improve their positions of need.

There are plenty of attractive free-agents available that wouldn’t require much financial commitment. The Panthers could also go down the route of trading for a player of specific interest.

A recent rumor indicated the Panthers are “in talks” with the Arizona Cardinals about the possibility of acquiring linebacker Haason Reddick. This would see the player link up with head coach Matt Rhule once again.

The pair worked together at Temple and the move could be a logical one given the need for reinforcements at the position. The Panthers lost legendary linebacker Luke Kuechly to retirement this offseason, which leaves a huge void on and off the field.

Carolina’s decision-makers opted not to use one of their historic draft selections on a linebacker, which was seen as a vote of confidence in Tahir Whitehead following his one-year, $2.5 million free-agent deal from the Las Vegas Raiders.

More will be needed going forward if the Panthers want to remain competitive in 2020. Reddick is a productive player that can operate in multiple positions if needed.

This is something Rhule and general manager Marty Hurney highly sought during the draft. Reddick was selected 13th overall by the Cardinals in 2017 and has not missed an NFL game during his time in the pros.

He is also heading into the final year of his deal, so the Panthers might be able to get good value in any trade.
