Panthers 2020 schedule: 3 toughest home games
By Dean Jones
2. Arizona Cardinals
Although the Arizona Cardinals might have struggled somewhat last season. Things look much more promising for the franchise in 2020.
This is down in no small part to the trade for All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who was practically given to them by the Houston Texans in what looks to be one of the worst offseason moves in recent memory.
Hopkins is an absolute stud presence on the outside who will form a three-strong wideout group that also consists of Hall of Fame-bound Larry Fitzgerald and the improving Christian Kirk.
Former first-round pick Kyler Murray is also expected to take a step forward after showing enormous promise during his rookie campaign under center. The mobile quarterback is a dual-threat presence who performed well despite significantly struggles from the Cardinals’ offensive line last season. This bodes well for even better numbers from the Heisman Trophy winner in 2020.
Running back Kenyan Drake is another that warrants considerable attention after standing out following a trade from the Miami Dolphins. He was transition tagged by the team this offseason and will want to showcase his overall influence in order to obtain a long-term financial commitment.
This will also be something of a yardstick game between Panthers’ first-round pick Derrick Brown and do-it-all linebacker Isaiah Simmons, who Carolina passed on after the elite prospect fell out of the top five.
Simmons will be all guns blazing in a bid to prove this was the wrong call by the decision-makers. The Cardinals defense also boasts stud pass-rusher Chandler Jones, so it is going to be an incredibly tough proposition on the Panthers 2020 schedule.
