The newest members of the Panthers staff comes is as director of player personnel following a two-year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Ian Rappaport of NFL Network. Stewart is no stranger to new head coach Matt Rhule, with the pair working closely together at Temple and Baylor.
This is the latest in a series of moves involving people that were involved with Rhule during the college system. Having so many familiar faces around the head coach during his initial transition from college to the pros is going to his chances for success no harm at all.
From a Panthers news perspective, this represents an intriguing move that could bring some significant benefits. Prior to his role with the Eagles, Stewart was part of the hugely successful New England Patriots winning run and spent 11 years as part of their staff.
Stewart has been a considerable part of a team that achieved a historic run of Super Bowl victories. This is something he can put to good use as the Panthers also look to become title contenders in the years to come.
