The projected backups

There is not much on the Carolina Panthers depth chart in the way of talent behind those projected to be fighting for starting positions. This has the potential to cause further problems in an area of the field that is more susceptible to injury than most.

Tyler Larsen might harbor ambitions of making the starting lineup either at center or guard. But he might have to bide his time and wait for one of the more valued players to go down before getting an opportunity.

The former Utah State lineman was used sparingly by the Panthers in 2019. However, Larsen did show glimpses of what he is capable of. And an increased role next season is not entirely out of the question.

Juwann Bushell-Beatty bounced around a lot during his rookie season and is being given another chance to make the roster by the Panthers in training camp. Although the player possessed some good traits from the tackle spot coming out of college. He is still seen as more of a development prospect that could play some role at guard.

This is down in no small part to his formidable size and power. Bushell-Beatty has landed on a good spot in Carolina as there could be an opening available.

The same applies to undrafted free-agent Branden Bowen. The Ohio Stats product has injury concerns after missing the 2018 campaign. But there is no denying his ability to make things happen when the prospect is at the top of his game.

Bowen would be an intriguing addition to the Panthers depth chart if he makes the roster. He plays aggressively and has the versatility that head coach Matt Rhule has coveted significantly during his time with the franchise.
