How could a seven-win season be classed?
Improving on their 5-11 record in 2019 is the best-case scenario from the Carolina Panthers schedule next season. They operate in one of the NFL’s toughest divisions and also face plenty of teams that have their sights set on big things next year.

If the Panthers schedule saw them emerge with a 7-9 record. It could be classed as a significant achievement and one that can give them great hope in the future.
This is a young roster who will gain a tremendous amount from the challenges that lie ahead, with many of them having little or no experience starting in the NFL over a consistent period of time.
If one offered head coach Matt Rhule 7-9 during the first season of a rebuild, there is little doubt he would take it. The general betting line is 5.5 for the Panthers schedule win projection. So realistically a seven-win campaign is the highest ceiling they could possibly muster in the short-term.
What is more important during 2020 is that the Panthers’ young core displays the right sort of characteristics that ensure the team can push for the postseason in the coming years. Carolina’s decision-makers have parted ways with some prominent locker room leaders on big salaries this offseason and replaced them with younger, hungry players with a chip on their shoulder.

Things are not going to be easy one the Panthers schedule next season. And any member of the team’s fanbase that thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. A 7-9 campaign can be seen as a huge win for the organization and one that would give their long-term aspirations a significant shot in the arm.
