7 tough matchups awaiting Russell Okung in 2020
By Dean Jones
Von Miller (Week 13 on Carolina Panthers schedule)
Even though Von Miller is entering the final years of his outstanding career. He is still performing at a high level and will be a difficult proposition to overcome for Russell Okung when the Carolina Panthers take on the Denver Broncos.
Miller is Hall of Fame-bound after he finally decides to hang up his cleats. The edge rusher has been a difference-maker for the Broncos during his time with the franchise and has the stats to back it up.
The three-time All-Pro has accumulated 106 sacks in nine seasons, including eight in 2019. Miller possesses incredible instincts that allow him to get off the block in an explosive manner that few offensive linemen have been able to cope with over the years.
Okung is long in the tooth himself. So he will not be relishing the prospect of coming up against Miller. If the Broncos are in title or postseason contention by this point. It will only make the task even more difficult to overcome.
Big things are expected in Denver after another strong offseason from general manager John Elway, at least on paper. Much will depend on their offense going forward. But they still have an ultra-productive pass-rusher in Miller to call upon when needed.
