There are plenty of reasons why former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is not declining.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding the future of former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton since his release. The player is still on the lookout for a new home and the chances of him landing a starting spot right away appear bleak.

A great deal has been said regarding the situation and just how the Carolina Panthers have handled it this offseason. The timing of Newton’s departure was strange. And former player Mike Tolbert blasted the franchise for their treatment regarding his injuries over the last two seasons.

An anonymous general manager also claimed that Newton’s film showed signs of decline. This could also play a role in him remaining on the free-agent market if it is an opinion that is shared across the league.

Newton himself has received the all-clear to return to training and has looked the part in some recent social media posts. However, it is hard to gauge just what he will bring to another organization until he steps onto the field.

It’s easy to forget just what high of a level Newton was playing before a shoulder injury in 2018. He looked like the player of old despite the problem noticeably bothering him. One could not make a calculation from his minimal contribution in 2019 before his campaign was cut short on the injured reserve list.

Providing the 2015 NFL MVP is at full health and has no further complications. There is little doubt the theory of regression is way off the mark. Here are three reasons why Newton is not declining and is far from done in the NFL.
