3 reasons why Cam Newton is not declining

3. Newton’s dual-threat impact with the Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in NFL history. He was not only a commanding threat in the passing game during his time with the Carolina Panthers. But his ability to tuck the football and break off big running plays was another huge contributing factor in his success.
This is something that continues to be of high importance across the league. One only has to look at the impact that quarterback Lamar Jackson made on his way to an MVP with the Baltimore Ravens in 2019 to witness just how prevalent it remains.
He has rushed for 4,806 yards and 58 touchdowns during a standout career to date. This also included 31 rushes of more than 20 yards and is further evidence of just how difficult Newton is to bring down when at full speed.
Opposing defenses need to keep a close on eye on Newton getting out of the pocket on any given down. This frees up space for others to work elsewhere and should not be overlooked by a team thinking about acquiring his services.
Providing Newton still has some juice left in the tank. He represents an intriguing backup option that could potentially come in and start at the drop of a hat. The player could also be utilized in specialist packages on offense while he gets up to speed with the playbook in a different environment.
