Best offseason moves for Carolina Panthers: Hiring Joe Brady
One of the best offseason moves for the Carolina Panthers was the hiring of Joe Brady as their offensive coordinator. The talented young coach played a leading role in the LSU Tigers’ national championship triumph in 2019. And there is real hope he can transform the fortunes of the passing game.
Brady worked incredibly well with quarterback Joe Burrow, who was eventually picked No. 1 overall by the Cincinnati Bengals. One only has to look just how well LSU’s passing game influenced proceedings last season to see what the new coach can bring to the franchise.
He will have plenty to work with going forward. The roster is littered with players that can make a real impact in passing situations providing their patchwork offensive line holds up.
The likes of D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, and Curtis Samuel are potent weapons for Brady and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to utilize. They will also have the benefit of running back Christian McCaffrey and tight end Ian Thomas to call upon in short-yardage situations and intermediate routes.
With the potential involvement of Seth Roberts, Keith Kirkwood, Pharoh Cooper, and undrafted free-agent Omar Bayless. Things could well be looking up for the Panthers. Brady will play a leading role in any development that comes their way. And bringing him in could eventually be a masterstroke from Carolina’s decision-makers.
