Carolina Panthers: 2019 NFL Draft do-over (7 rounds)

Carolina Panthers Round 5 pick (No. 154): David Edwards – OL
The offensive line has been a real problem for the Carolina Panthers in recent seasons. They have made significant changes once again this offseason in free agency. But they could have got a real steal in the 2019 NFL Draft.
David Edwards played incredibly well with the Los Angeles Rams during his rookie season. The versatile player gave up just one sack in 689 snaps in 2019 from the guard spot. And there is plenty to like about his chances for a long and successful career.
One suspects there are plenty of NFL teams who are now looking at Edwards and wondering why they never pulled the trigger. The Wisconsin product has supreme power and is nimble enough to recover quickly on the rare moments he is beaten off the block.
There is also a chance he can move into a tackle spot with more experience under his belt. And although the Rams massively underachieved last season. The coaching staff will no doubt be hugely encouraged by what they have seen from Edwards.
The Panthers allocated their fifth-round pick on running back Jordan Scarlett. The player barely saw the field in 2019 thanks to the emergence of Reggie Bonnafon. And it remains to be seen whether the player can impress Carolina’s coaching staff enough during training camp to move up the depth chart.
