Carolina Panthers: 4 dream offseason trade targets in 2020

Carolina Panthers trade target: George Kittle – TE (San Francisco 49ers)
The Carolina Panthers are counting on Ian Thomas to put up some big numbers for the franchise in 2020. The tight end will finally get the chance to show what he is capable of after prolific veteran Greg Olsen departed in free agency for the Seattle Seahawks.
He has shown glimpses of promise during his time on the field so far. But it remains to be seen just how much Thomas is going to improve with more opportunities.
George Kittle has been nothing short of a revelation for the San Francisco 49ers over the last two seasons. He is arguably the most well-rounded tight end in the NFL and played a leading role in the franchise reaching the Super Bowl in 2019.
There have been murmurings of discontent between Kittle and the Niners in recent weeks. Contract talks have reportedly stalled with the pair miles apart on their restive figures. And with the player heading into the final year of his deal. This is a problem that could escalate further in the coming weeks.
It would take a king’s ransom for any team to acquire Kittle. And even then it might not be enough. The Panthers would be in a position to offer him the sort of big-money the player is seeking next spring if such a move would come to fruition.
Although it appears a pipe dream, one could only imagine what the Panthers offense could do with Kittle. Putting him with Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, Curtis Samuel, and Thomas has elite potential, to put it mildly.
