Carolina Panthers free-agent target: Jayon Brown (Tennessee Titans)

The Tennessee Titans’ defense played a leading role in their incredible postseason run last season. And inside linebacker Jayon Brown continues his emergence as a potential star.

Brown has been exceptional from the moment he entered the NFL back in 2017 as a fifth-round pick out of UCLA. He is a physical specimen who likes nothing more than getting downhill to the point of attack. And this is something that he does consistently and with aplomb.

The player will undoubtedly be a name of interest for the Carolina Panthers if the Titans do not place any sort of tag on him. Brown has accumulated 202 combined tackles, 133 solo tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, and 14 pass deflections over the last two seasons. And he could be the do-it-all linebacker that is young enough to be considered as a long-term successor for Luke Kuechly.

The recently retired figure will have a huge say in who will come in at the position from here on. But it is hard not to like the way Brown goes about his business on almost every down.

He is a sideline-to-sideline threat than can influence the game on running or passing downs. He also possesses enough burst to get after the quarterback during blitz packages. Although this is something the Titans did not utilize much last season.

Brown is still only 25-years-old, so there is potential for him to improve further as the player enters his prime.
