Panthers depth chart: All change at the cornerback spot in 2020

Carolina Panthers CB depth chart: The projected backups
There appears to be plenty of competition for places behind the projected starters at cornerback. The Carolina Panthers need all the help they can get in this particular area of the field. And hopefully one of these fringe players can make a leap forward to become a more prominent figure.
Corn Elder hasn’t seen the field much over the last two seasons. But he does possess some adequate skills that might see his role increase in 2020. What comes next for the player will be largely up to him. And he won’t get a better opportunity than this anywhere else.
The same can be said for Cole Luke, who might have been moved on by the Panthers this offseason. Instead, the new coaching staff has given him a chance to earn his place on the rotation. And this is something he simply cannot pass up if he wants to make a real go of his NFL career.
The organization also allocated their seventh-round pick on Stantley Thomas-Oliver III. But he is seen more as a development project that could be of assistance on special teams. Depending on how 2020 goes, the player might see some extended time later on in the season to further aid his development.
Natrell Jamerson and Derrek Brown will also be aiming to secure a spot on the 53-man roster. However, Carolina might opt to bring in another veteran free agent to compete at camp.
They would have to move some money around in order to make this a realistic proposition. But the franchise could benefit enormously from this and it could even improve their short-term aspirations in the process.
