Cam Newton: Former Carolina Panthers quarterback

Cam Newton’s 2015 season was arguably the most entertaining of all time from a player. From doing somersaults into the end-zone to dancing on his opponents, the quarterback was must-see TV.

Newton helped continue the new era of dual-threat quarterbacks. When the Carolina Panthers had a quarterback who can run over defensive tackles, can sprint past linebackers, and can make amazing passes, it’s tough to make a game plan to stop him.

The signal-caller took his time to rise to the superstar level. He was at the University of Florida where some accusations caused him to transfer to a junior college. He dominated at Blinn and went on the win a Heisman Trophy at Auburn on their way to a National Championship victory.

He was drafted No. 1 overall and had one of the best rookie seasons the league has ever seen. Newton has been the face of the franchise since he was drafted. And although he departed the organization in difficult circumstances this offseason. It should not detract from just how much the player transformed the Panthers and how they were perceived nationwide.

No matter who he plays for next, Cam will always be a Panther to those who passionately followed him during his career. There was nothing he couldn’t do at the top of his game. And he is the most exciting player in the team’s short history by a considerable margin.

He is one of the most entertaining players the league has ever seen, and his journey is a story everyone should hear. What comes next will only add to any potential documentary involving Newton.
