Carolina Panthers: 3 trade targets from the Atlanta Falcons
By Dean Jones
Which members of the Atlanta Falcons roster could the Carolina Panthers target via trade?
Inter-divisional trades are few and far between in the NFL. But the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons are heading in the same direction in 2020.
Although the Falcons might not want to admit it, this is a make-or-break campaign for its current roster. If things turn sour once again, it might see them take on the same sort of rebuild that the Carolina Panthers went through this offseason.
This could see a number of players moved on either in free agency or through the trade market. And the Panthers could definitely look in Atlanta’s direction if the opportunity arises.
The Falcons would be reluctant to trade anyone to the Panthers, especially if it would improve their chances of becoming a contender in the future. This would make the likes of Julio Jones off-limits. But there are some intriguing rotational players that could aid through their period of transition.
Any trade between the two would probably come with an inflated price. Both teams are seen as something of an afterthought in the NFC South in 2020 thanks to the presence of two legitimate Super Bowl contenders in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints.
It might be a shock if rival teams make trade moves together. But stranger things have happened in the NFL and if the Panthers identify someone to target, then they would be foolish not to at least explore the possibility.
Here are three players that should be on the Panthers’ radar.
