Which players could be cut by the Carolina Panthers without ever seeing the field in a competitive setting?

The Carolina Panthers gutted their roster this offseason with a view to possibly mounting a postseason tilt in the coming years. This was to be expected in new head coach Matt Rhule’s first year. And it has left plenty of players fighting for their futures.

It is going to be a period of transition for the Carolina Panthers. They hold some lofty ambitions both on and off the field going forward. And although this takes some of the pressure off in 2020. It does not detract from the fact that some members of the roster face a real fight on their hands to secure a long-term future with the franchise.

This also counts for players who were brought in by the Panthers during free agency. Their lack of time to impress during a shortened offseason program has given training camp an increased sense of urgency when it gets underway. And if they don’t catch the eye then their time with the organization will be short-lived.

The NFL is a ruthless business for fringe players looking to forge a career. Carolina has so much dead cap money going into 2020 that a bit extra isn’t going to make that much of a difference if they opt to go in this direction once their 53-man roster is finalized.

Here are four players that might find themselves released without playing a snap for the Panthers.
