Carolina Panthers cuts: Juwann Bushell-Beatty (OT)
Realistically speaking, it would be a huge surprise if offensive lineman Juwann Bushell-Beatty made inroads into the Carolina Panthers roster in 2020. He has bounced around the NFL for some time now without ever doing enough to become a prominent roster presence.
One gets the sense this might be the last chance for Bushell-Beatty to stake a claim. The Panthers have more questions to answer on their offensive line than most. But the former Michigan product appears to be some way down the depth chart heading into training camp.
Carolina seems happy enough to go with Russell Okung and Taylor Moton at the tackle spots. John Miller and Michael Schofield might start at guard if the franchise opts to take Dennis Daley out of the firing line completely following a difficult rookie season.
The likes of Greg Little, Tyler Larsen, and Chris Reed could also feature more prominently if they make the necessary improvements. So Bushell-Beatty is going to have to make the very most out of his time with the organization or find himself on the NFL’s scrapheap once again.
The lineman signed a one-year deal worth $610,000 if he makes the roster. It doesn’t cost the Panthers anything to part ways with Bushell-Beatty if he doesn’t do enough to convince the coaching staff to keep him around.
