Carolina Panthers trade target: Alex Bars (OT)

While things look immensely promising for the Carolina Panthers from an offensive standpoint in 2020. Their fortunes will come down to how their patchwork offensive line holds up against the formidable pass-rushers on their schedule.

The likes of Russell Okung, John Miller, and Michael Schofield were brought into the fold. But it could be argued that all three may not be with the franchise this time next year.

There is some encouragement that Greg Little can eventually emerge into a starting role with another season to improve his craft in a rotational role. And Carolina does have more financial wiggle room in 2021 to possibly attract a big-name free agent at the position.

If they decide to work out a trade for an up-and-coming lineman in the near future, then tackle Alex Bars should be on their shortlist. The former Notre Dame standout wasn’t utilized heavily by the Chicago Bears last season. But he did look very comfortable on the line of scrimmage during his limited time on the field.

Bars will only get better with more experience under his belt. And the Bears are reportedly high on his chances of making an impact going forward. The player will probably not start in 2020, so the team may be willing to part ways providing they receive a suitable offer.
