Carolina Panthers scouting report: Micah Parsons

It is hard not to fall in love with the way Micah Parsons goes about his business on the field. He is an electrifying player that has the strength and athleticism to be around the ball on almost every down.

The prospect broke out in no uncertain terms in 2019 for the Nittany Lions. Parsons recorded 109 combined tackles, 52 solo tackles, five sacks, five pass deflections, and four forced fumbles. He was an incredible force both in the backfield and at the second level to quickly establish himself as one of the most productive players anywhere in the country.

Parson’s versatility is something that really sets him apart. He has the potential to be used in a variety of different ways. And this is something that the Carolina Panthers sought consistently both during free agency and the NFL Draft this year.

He possesses real explosiveness that makes him a nightmare to cover rushing the passer. Parsons is very instinctive on the field. And this enables him to get to the point of attack with real force on a consistent basis.

If the prospect manages to propel himself to even greater heights in 2020. Then he has the scope to be a plug and play starter at the next level with a Pro Bowl ceiling. That might be a lot of pressure to put on Parson’s shoulders going into the season. But there is nothing to suggest the player is not more than ready to meet expectations.
