Carolina Panthers All-Pro candidate: Tre Boston (S)

There is an aura building around Tre Boston. The player has emerged as a real beacon of hope for the Carolina Panthers this offseason. And he has been the first to stand up and be counted when it comes to the team or social matters.

He was in a rare company this offseason after earning himself a contract extension. Boston agreed to a three-year, $18 million deal that included an $8 million signing bonus and a further $8 million in guarantees. This was a just reward for a player that made every down count during the first year of his second spell with the franchise.

Boston was named to the All-Clutch team by Pro Football Focus recently. And it is not hard to see why. He was exemplary down the stretch and was a real positive from an otherwise disappointing campaign defensively.

More is going to be needed this time around. Boston will have to ensure his production stays at a high level. And he will also be tasked with guiding the likes of rookie duo Jeremy Chinn and Kenny Robinson during their initial transition to the pros.

If Boston can do this, and the Panthers emerge from the season with an encouraging record from the first year of their rebuild. Then it would not be a surprise to see this come with at least consideration for All-Pro.
