Carolina Panthers: 3 trade targets from the Dallas Cowboys
By Dean Jones
Carolina Panthers trade target: Brandon Knight (OL)
The Carolina Panthers have some real problems long-term regarding their offensive line. They brought in plenty of plug-and-play starters to help them in 2020. But their prospects of filling various positions for the foreseeable future remains in doubt.
This is an area of the field that will need to be addressed prominently either next spring or via trade prior to the season. The Panthers might opt to go with the latter. And they do have some significant financial resources available to go after a big-name signing.
Should Carolina want to go in the direction of a trade, then Brandon Knight is a name that should be high on the shortlist. The former Indiana standout went undrafted before earning his spot on the Dallas Cowboys rotation. He made the most out of his opportunity when called upon and didn’t give up a single sack during his time on the field.
Knight is a player with real promise. He has good size and is strong enough on the block to impact the game in running or passing downs. The player also has neat footwork which will serve him well as he looks to make another go of things in his sophomore campaign.
Although Knight isn’t expected to be a starter on a formidable Dallas offensive line, he is expected to be a more prominent part of the rotation. This could be an opportunity for Carolina to get someone at a reasonable price that could fill a tackle spot long-term.
