The Carolina Panthers got three of their best players in franchise history from the 2007 NFL Draft. They also missed out on some all-time greats.

The 2007 NFL Draft produced some of the greatest players of all time. It also has some of the biggest busts in recent memory. The Carolina Panthers came out of their selections with a trio of players that will long be remembered by the franchise.

Arguably the biggest bust of all time, JaMarcus Russell, was taken with the first overall pick. The second and third selections are two future Pro Football Hall of Famers in wide receiver Calvin Johnson and stud left tackle, Joe Thomas.

With this much talent in one draft, there are a lot of teams who would want another chance at taking a Hall of Famer instead of their picks who did not live up to their billing. The Panthers are one of the teams who picked well in this draft. But that is not to say they also didn’t miss out on some great players.

Jon Beason, Ryan Kalili, and Charles Johnson are household names when it comes to Panther football. But players like Dwayne Jarrett and Ryne Robinson are faces that Carolina’s fanbase tries to forget.

If the Carolina Panthers could go back in time and redraft their 2007 class, this is how it might go.
