4 players Carolina Panthers can’t risk sneaking on practice squad

Players the Carolina Panthers can’t risk sneaking on the practice squad: Omar Bayless (WR)
Omar Bayless was one of college football’s most prolific wide receivers in 2019. He was a devastating force across all areas of the passing game. And it seemed strange that the player went undrafted.
This was down in no small part to the wideout group being arguably the deepest in recent memory. But the Carolina Panthers wasted no time in securing the services of Bayless as an undrafted free agent in the hope he can replicate this form at the next level.
Bayless has a lot of solid traits to work with going into training camp. He is a fluid route runner that has the impressive hand-eye coordination to catch under pressure.
There is some doubt as to whether the player can get the same sort of separation at the next level. And he comes into a wide receiver group that is a real position of strength for the Panthers.
If new head coach Matt Rhule opts to try and sneak Bayless on the practice squad, then he might be out of luck. The wideout was in high demand during the little time he spent on the free-agent market. So it wouldn’t take long for someone else to come in with an offer.
Whether Bayless makes the 53-man roster will ultimately come down to how well the player impresses during camp and the preseason. And even that might not be enough due to the presence of other prominent playmakers.
