What are three ambitious targets for Carolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater heading into 2020?

New Carolina Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has some high expectations on his shoulders heading into 2020. He was brought in this offseason and will be expected to provide a consistent presence under center that was sorely missing last time out.

Following in the formidable footsteps of legendary figure Cam Newton will not be easy. But the Carolina Panthers placed a tremendous amount of faith in the player to deliver with a three-year, $63 million deal that included a $15 million signing bonus and $33 million guaranteed.

What comes next for Bridgewater will be entirely up to him. He has worked exceptionally hard to recover from a career-threatening leg injury to earn a starting role again. And Carolina has put him in a strong position to succeed.

Offensive coordinator Joe Brady comes with a big reputation after masterminding the LSU passing attack on their way to a National Championship in college. He was worked with Bridgewater before during their time together with the New Orleans Saints. So the transition period should go smoothly despite their lack of time together on the field.

The Panthers are also fortunate to boast some formidable weapons in the passing game for Bridgewater to utilize. The likes of D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, and Curtis Samuel could see significant targets as the campaign progresses. And others such as Pharoh Cooper, Seth Roberts, and Brandon Zylstra also hold out hope of featuring on a rotational basis.

Bridgewater also has the best dual-threat running back in the NFL to lean on in the form of Christian McCaffrey. There does seem to be some serious questions regarding their offensive line. But if they can come together quickly then the sky is the limit for the Panthers’ signal-caller.

Here are three realistic targets that Bridgewater can aim for during his first season in Carolina.
