Target No. 1 for Carolina Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater: Career-high completion percentage

Teddy Bridgewater has been an accurate quarterback during his time in the NFL. He was arguably the brightest player at the position in the NFL before his freak training camp injury with the Minnesota Vikings that took the team from a Super Bowl contender to an 8-8 record.

There is nothing to suggest he cannot continue this sort of trend with the Carolina Panthers. Bridgewater gives the team a composed presence in the pocket that could make a real difference. Passing accuracy is something that has blighted the organization over the years. And this was including when Cam Newton was under center.

During Bridgewater’s incredible stint with the New Orleans Saints in Drew Brees’ absence last season, he managed to throw 133 of 196 passes for a completion percentage of 67.9. This was a career-high for the player. And he has a good chance to better this number for the Panthers in 2020.

Dropped passes were something of a concern in Carolina last season. But the main culprits barring tight end Ian Thomas are no longer with the franchise. Joe Brady is going to put his playmakers in the best possible chance to succeed. And having Bridgewater distributing the ball is another huge plus.

This is a significant opportunity for Bridgewater. And one he is expected to take full advantage of. While the Panthers’ defense has plenty of questions to answer next season. Their offense has the scope to put some considerable points on the board.

If Bridgewater can get enough time to go through his progressions in front of a patchwork offensive line. Then career numbers regarding his completion percentage are not entirely out of the question.
