3 reasons Cam Newton won’t make the playoffs in 2020

Carolina Panthers Reason No. 1: Strength of schedule
One prominent reason why Cam Newton might not make the playoffs with the New England Patriots is their schedule. It is ranked the NFL’s toughest in 2020. And when one looks at the teams they are coming up against, it is not hard to see why.
The former Carolina Panthers signal-caller will have his work cut out during a brutal campaign against some formidable defenses. Newton will need to hit the ground running if he becomes their No. 1 right away. But what lies ahead of him is the steepest of tasks.
New England will take on plenty of teams that harbor realistic ambitions of securing a Super Bowl next season. The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, and the San Francisco 49ers will all see Newton during the campaign. And it would be a significant shock if the Patriots were able to get anything out of these contests with their current roster.
Newton will also come up against some emerging sides that will be aiming for a postseason berth. This includes the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, and the Arizona Cardinals, who bolstered their offense considerably by trading for All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
Bill Belichick is a master at finding the weak link in any team. And their offense should move more smoothly thanks to Newton’s ability to make something out of nothing. However, the level of opposition could not be any tougher and it remains to be seen whether this can result in another trip to the playoffs.
