Carolina Panthers trade scenario No. 2 for David Njoku

The Cleveland Browns could use a more reliable No. 3 receiver for quarterback Baker Mayfield to utilize during a critical third season for the former No. 1 overall pick in 2018. Rashard Higgins is slotted in after showing glimpses of promise in 2019. But it appears highly unlikely he will make a lasting impression with so many elsewhere demanding targets.

Wide receiver is an area of the field where the Carolina Panthers are especially strong. They are loaded with playmakers that have the ability to thrive under Joe Brady. But offering one as part of a deal to acquire David Njoku would be something worth considering.

Seth Roberts has proven more than capable of producing the goods when required on a run-first offense during his time with the Baltimore Ravens. The wideout signed a two-year deal with the organization during free agency. But he could be fighting for a prominent role given Carolina’s top-three players are cemented.

Putting Roberts alongside Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. could see the player reach even greater heights with virtually no attention coming his way. This deal would also provide Carolina with a tight end that can produce consistency in the passing game providing he stays healthy.

Stranger things have happened in the NFL. And this might be a scenario that the Browns might look at favorably.
