Will the Carolina Panthers pay Taylor Moton?

The Carolina Panthers will not want to lose their best offensive lineman. Taylor Moton has the potential to be a bookend at either tackle spot for the next five to seven years. And it would be prudent for the organization to hang onto him at all costs.

His work ethic and overall character make him a very wise investment. And Moton also backs this up with some outstanding production with a poise that has not been seen in Carolina since Jordan Gross.

The question will not be whether the Panthers will pay Moton or not. It more comes down to whether the player himself wishes to stay with the organization.

This will be something of an audition for the team as well as the player. And they will need to show progress in order to convince him and others that they can become a contender in the not-too-distant future.

Moton is an exceptional talent and one that is hard to find in today’s NFL. Pass-rushers across the league are getting faster and stronger with each passing year. So losing him would represent a considerable blow to the Panthers and one that might take some time to recover from.

There is plenty of hope that it doesn’t come to this. And Carolina does have the option of using the franchise tag if a deal cannot be agreed by the time push comes to shove.

A large number of veteran players opted to take their chances elsewhere this offseason. And Carolina needs to make sure Moton doesn’t follow the same path.
