Carolina Panthers: 3 trade targets from the Indianapolis Colts

Carolina Panthers trade target: Grover Stewart (DT)
Defensive tackle Grover Stewart has shown some promise during his career. He might have been pushing for a starting spot in 2020 had it not been for the arrival of DeForest Buckner. And this has plunged his long-term future with the Indianapolis Colts into doubt.
The former fourth-round pick out of Albany State is heading into the final year of his rookie deal and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2021. While he will be an attractive option for the Carolina Panthers in free agency next spring. They would be smart to offer something for the player via trade to ensure they acquire his services.
This is all dependent on whether Stewart becomes a player of interest. But judging by the way he has performed over the last two seasons it represents an intriguing option and one they should consider.
Stewart was on the field for 60 percent of the Colts’ defensive snaps in 2019. He managed to record a 65.6 grade from Pro Football Focus after gaining three sacks, 30 combined tackles, 14 solo tackles, five tackles for loss, and five quarterback hits.
The Panthers will have a problem on their hands at defensive tackle if veteran Kawann Short is released due to his extortionate salary cap hit in 2021. No. 7 overall selection Derrick Brown has the potential to be their anchor for the next decade. But he will need someone productive alongside him.
