Carolina Panthers trade target: Anthony Walker (LB)

Another that is going to be looking for a big payday with the Indianapolis Colts in the near future is Anthony Walker. The linebacker has been a tremendous value pickup after the team selected him in the fifth round of Northwestern back in 2017. But it remains to be seen whether the organization is going to commit a substantial amount of money to retain his services.

If they decide not to keep the player around, then the Colts might take some calls from interested parties to ensure they get a draft pick in return. The Carolina Panthers lost legendary figure Luke Kuechly to retirement this offseason. And Tahir Whitehead was brought in to plug the gap on a short-term basis.

They will need to find a longer-term solution either in the trade market, in free agency, or the 20121 NFL Draft. Replacing someone with the exceptional production of Kuechly is going to be impossible. But Walker represents a good option due to his instincts and relatively low mileage.

The player has been a tackling machine over his last two seasons with the Colts. This has propelled his career stats to 251 total tackles, 164 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble, two interceptions, six pass deflections, 17 tackles for loss, and five quarterback hits.

While his game needs some work in pass-rushing situations, Walker has proven already he is a productive starter that will only get better as the years go on.
