Carolina Panthers: 4 players who can’t get complacent in 2020
By Dean Jones
Carolina Panthers Player No. 1: D.J. Moore (WR)
The potential regarding wide receiver D.J. Moore is limitless. He is one of the NFL’s brightest young stars at the position. And big things will be expected from the player once again next season.
Moore is coming off his first 1,000-yard campaign with the Carolina Panthers. And he could even take another significant stride forward with a more consistent performer under center in Teddy Bridgewater.
The wideout has everything you look for in a prolific wide receiver at the next level. He has the speed to make a difference down the field. His polished route-running skills enable him to make a real difference over intermediate routes in crucial situations.
New offensive coordinator Joe Brady is set to target Moore heavily in his high-octane scheme. And Moore will be further aided by the presence of Robby Anderson on the other side of the field and Curtis Samuel in the slot.
However, it is vital that the former first-round pick out of Maryland doesn’t become complacent after reaching the four-figure receiving milestone in 2019. This is a time not to look back at what he achieved last time out. But he must aim to become even better in the months ahead.
If Moore can do this, then he can elevate himself to elite status. There is a lot riding on this campaign from a financial perspective, with the player heading into the final year of his rookie deal in 2021.
