Should the Carolina Panthers consider a move for Josh Gordon if the wide receiver is reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell?

The Carolina Panthers look absolutely loaded at the wide receiver position heading into 2020. This should be a productive area of the field for the organization. And the arrival of new offensive coordinator Joe Brady is also set to maximize their impact.

The trio of D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, and Curtis Samuel all have the capability to break off big plays at the drop of a hat. And the Carolina Panthers brought in two strong presences in the form of Seth Roberts and Pharoh Cooper during free agency to further aid their cause.

That being said, the chance to bring in a troubled yet gifted wideout might be an opportunity worth considering in 2020. Josh Gordon has had his fair share of troubles off the field since entering the league. But he is now looking to be reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell after claiming to have turned his life around.

This is something we have heard all before from Gordon. He has tested the patience of virtually every team he has played for as a professional. And it is hard to gauge just how many millions the player has sacrificed by taking the wrong path.

There is no doubting Gordon’s talent. He is a huge frame that has athletic skills that defy his size. The player could be one of the best in the business had he remained focused on his game. And if he doesn’t get another opportunity to showcase his talents, then the receiver will go down as someone that promised much but delivered little.

If Gordon is given one more opportunity to forge a successful career, then he represents an intriguing option that would be low-risk financially. But could come with a high reward.
