3 reasons the Carolina Panthers should take a chance on Josh Gordon

Carolina Panthers Reason No. 2: The last chance saloon for Josh Gordon
In truth, Josh Gordon might already be past the point of no return. But if Roger Goodell decides to reinstate him before the season, this will definitely be his last chance.
He has been fortunate to get so many opportunities during a tainted career so far. This is down in no small part to the exceptional skill set Gordon brings to the table. But the NFL has a breaking point with every player and he is no different.
Some players take advantage of their final opportunity more than others. Cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones went on to be productive with the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals after some early trouble. However, plenty went the other way and saw their career descend into tatters.
Gordon falls into the second bracket at the present time. And although the player has claimed that he is now sober and focused on making another go of things. This is something that Goodell has heard more than once from the player in the past.
Should he get another chance, it is imperative he makes the most of it. Teams will obviously be put off by Gordon’s chequered history. But the Panthers have a solid locker room environment at the present time that would allow the player to re-acclimatize at his own pace.
This wouldn’t be the most popular decision ever made by the organization. Gordon will have to win over teammates and Carolina’s fanbase with exemplary behavior off the field and solid production on it when targets come his way.
