Which rookies are underhyped for the Carolina Panthers heading into the 2020 season?

How long the current rebuild going on with the Carolina Panthers might be aided by their selection of incoming college recruits. The organization allocated their picks wisely during a draft that will live long in the memory. And they also managed to acquire some noteworthy players on the undrafted free-agent market.

New head coach Matt Rhule got a head start when evaluating these players from his time at Baylor last season. Couple this with general manager Marty Hurney’s outstanding record of picking the right sort of player. And the Carolina Panthers could be onto a real winner.

Their task has not been aided by a lack of rookie minicamps or OTAs during an unprecedented offseason so far. It will be vital that each player adjusts quickly to their new environments. And although the virtual sessions will have helped in getting them up to speed. They are no substitute for getting out on the field.

Some have been overhyped more than others following the draft. But others on Carolina’s roster currently could be classed as flying under the radar during not only the evaluation process but also the draft itself.

Hurney has been prolific with his early and late-round selections during his two spells as Panthers’ GM. And the class of 2020 might be a key contributing factor in the decision-maker possibly getting an extension in the near.

Here are four rookies that fall into the underhyped category heading into a crucial training camp.
