Carolina Panthers Player No. 4: Omar Bayless (WR)

It seems unfathomable that Omar Bayless went undrafted after such a prolific spell with Arkansas State. Others’ loss was the Carolina Panthers gain. And they will be hoping the wide receiver can showcase his incredible skill set and make this opportunity count.

Bayless was an absolute nightmare for opposing cornerbacks to cover in 2019. He seemed to get open at will on his way to 93 receptions for 1,653 yards and 17 touchdowns.

This saw the player become one of college football’s most productive wideouts. But the NFL is a completely different ball game, and this is something Bayless will find out quickly.

There is no doubt that Bayless has some eye-catching qualities. He is an accomplished route-runner. And he also has a real knack for catching the ball under pressure with assured hands.

Bayless will need to alleviate concerns regarding his ability to get open against more talented corners across the league. And the depth at the position in Carolina is something else that could hamper his chances.

However, those sleeping on Bayless during the evaluation process might live to regret their lack of conviction regarding the player in the coming years. It will be vital for him to hit the ground running in the pros. But his confidence could not be higher after a 2019 college campaign that was littered with memorable highlights.
