Carolina Panthers trade target No. 3: Yannick Ngakoue (DE)

The Jacksonville Jaguars might be past the point of no return with their formidable defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. The player has voiced his displeasure at the direction of the franchise on countless occasions this offseason. And this has also included a social media bust-up with Shahid Khan.

His unhappiness stems from not being offered a long-term deal from the organization despite producing the goods on the field. Ngakoue signed the franchise tender that will see him make $17.78 million in 2020. But players’ reluctance to compete in this current predicament is growing with each passing year.

Ngakoue is a dominant edge rusher that is equally adept at making an impact in passing or running downs. He grew in stature on a struggling defense in 2019 on his way to eight sacks, four forced fumbles, six pass deflections, and 13 tackles for loss. And there is a real chance can get even better with better tools around him going forward.

The Jaguars aren’t expected to make a postseason run next season. So they might decide to strike while the iron is hot to ensure that they maximize their return on Ngakoue in the trade market.

The Carolina Panthers have a strong-looking front seven heading into the campaign. But adding someone like Ngakoue might be a temptation that is hard to resist at the right price.
