4 Carolina Panthers who could benefit from Patrick Mahomes deal

Carolina Panthers Player No. 4: Taylor Moton (OT)
Another that could see a benefit from Patrick Mahomes’ recent deal is Taylor Moton. The offensive tackle is an indispensable member of the organization after two years of incredible production on the edge. And this could see him become one of the NFL’s highest-paid lineman next year.
Moton is the one player on Carolina’s roster that can guarantee Teddy Bridgewater gets consistent protection. The rest of their offensive line comes with more questions than answers. So he will be under considerable pressure to continue this solid run of form in 2020.
There are no doubting Moton’s credentials. He is a quick-footed lineman that boasts exceptional strength and hand placement. These are the tools you look for in an elite player at the position.
The former second-round selection is heading into the final year of his contract. He will make a base salary of just over $1 million next season. This is a stark contrast to the $14 million annual salary Spotrac projects him to command during negotiations next spring.
Carolina will not want their best offensive tackle walking out of the door. Moton is going to be a pivotal member of the team going forward. And the lack of viable alternatives is another strong bargaining tool for the player as he looks to get the multi-million-dollar deal his play has warranted so far.
