Panthers: 5 best draft fits if college football season is canceled
By Dean Jones
Panthers Player No. 4: Dylan Moses (LB) – Alabama
The Carolina Panthers opted not to find a long-term replacement for Luke Kuechly this offseason. This should be one of their top priorities next year given the draft options available.
One of the players that warrant significant attention is Dylan Moses. A canceled college season would impact the player considerably. As he would be using this to make a point to scouts that he is fully healthy after missing the entire 2019 campaign for Alabama with a torn ACL.
All signs point to Moses making a full recovery. But if he is unable to demonstrate this on the field in a competitive environment, it might make some teams hesitant about using a top-end pick to secure his services.
Moses comes with a substantial amount of upside. He has all the makings of a prolific linebacker at the next level. And his physical attributes are similar to that which was sought after so frequently by the Panthers during free agency and this year’s draft.
He is a side-to-side presence at the second level that has exceptional burst and technique. Moses always seems to be around the ball thanks to his strong instincts for the game. And it is clear by watching his tape that he lives and breathes every down.
The Panthers will never be able to find another Kuechly. He was the heart and soul of Carolina’s defense from the moment he stepped on the field. But if Moses can prove his fitness to scouts, he could be the player that the team is looking for.
