4 Panthers who could outplay their contracts in 2020

Carolina Panthers Player No. 2: D.J. Moore (WR)
There is a case to be made that D.J. Moore has already outplayed his rookie deal after a stunning 2019. The wide receiver reached the 1,000-yard milestone in only his second campaign as a professional. And superstardom awaits if he takes another leap forward with a more consistent quarterback under center.
Moore represents the future of the franchise in no uncertain terms. He has the ability to make plays all over the field. And he possesses a polished technique with his route running that defied his tender years.
Everything is in place for the former first-round pick out of Maryland to enter the elite category in 2020. The Panthers have plenty of weapons around him that will command attention. And this could see the wideout have more space to operate in.
It wouldn’t be a great shock to see Moore surpass his totals from last season. A first Pro Bowl appearance is also something that isn’t out of the realms of possibility. And if the player reaches these targets in 2020, then his agent will be on the phone to Carolina’s decision-makers almost as soon as the campaign concludes.
Moore will make $1.49 million in base salary next season, which will rise to $2 million during the final year of his deal. A player of his talent should be making considerably more. And the Panthers will have the financial resources available to make this happen next spring.
