Carolina Panthers: 3 trade targets from the Las Vegas Raiders
By Dean Jones
Carolina Panthers trade target No. 1: Lamarcus Joyner (DB)
The drop-off in production from Lamarcus Joyner in 2019 was something that represents a significant concern. And it was completely unexpected given his consistent level of performance in recent years.
This has left Joyner fighting for a place on the Raiders’ rotation going into training camp. And if fails to stand out then his future with the organization appears bleak.

Carolina’s secondary is an area where there could be room for improvement. Joyner represents someone that might be available on the trade market at the right price. And the player possesses the sort of versatility that the Panthers’ coaching staff has sought plenty of during their first few months with the franchise.
The former second-round pick out of Florida State enjoyed a fine 2018 campaign that saw him earn an impressive 74.9 grade from Pro Football Focus. More importantly for Joyner, it was enough for the Raiders to give him a four-year, $42 million contract that included $21.3 million guaranteed.
Whether financial security was the reason behind Joyner taking his eye off the ball is up for debate. But it has left the player with much work to do to become an influence on a Las Vegas roster that is brimming with young talent everywhere you look.
Maybe a change of scenery could be just what Joyner needs to reinvigorate himself. And the Panthers seem like an ideal fit.
