5 Panthers who should feel disrespected by 2021 Madden rating

Carolina Panthers Player No. 1: Tre Boston (S) – 79 Madden rating
Tre Boston might be one of the highest-ranked Carolina Panthers with a 79 rating. But his production in 2019 should have come with a score in the mid-80s.
The player made a second opportunity with the organization count in no uncertain terms. Although Carolina’s secondary struggled during the season, this didn’t apply to Boston. He was at his brilliant best throughout. He gave up just eight of 16 targets thrown his way and secured 55 solo tackles in the process.

Boston also hauled in three interceptions on his way to an outstanding 76.4 grade from Pro Football Focus. More importantly, it was enough for the Panthers to give him a long-term deal when many other veterans were moved on.
The safety penned a three-year, $18 million extension that included an $8 million signing bonus and a further $8 million guaranteed. Boston will now be tasked with guiding a young group through their period of transition. And this could be his biggest challenge yet given the exceptional passing attacks that Carolina will come up against in 2020.
Boston is heading into his prime years at 28-years-old. And with so many influential figures no longer with the Panthers. He will need to step up and become a more prominent locker room leader going forward.
This is something he has already done regarding preparations for the new season in the current climate. And his leadership surrounding social injustice has been another eye-catching element of the way Boston has conducted himself during the offseason.
